Welcome
Hi everyone, welcome to my web site.
As our lives have become busier, the art of growing and preserving our own fruit and vegetables has been virtually forgotten. However, there has been a revival of this skill in recent years, and although some of the old recipes are being modified to suit modern day ingredients I have always tried to be as authentic as possible.
My Grandma Co (real name Cora) taught me how to preserve when I was very young and I have continued to do this even when it was not trendy to do so. I have fond memories of her lovingly prepared pickles and jellies and in particular her silverbeet milkshakes which we all adored on our return from school each day. She professed to having many secrets to living a long life and although when growing up I could not comprehend all that she told me I now firmly believe "we are what we eat".
The opportunities for us to travel more and explore and taste the wonderful foods of other countries is amazing and we come home overwhelmed by our culinary experiences. We then start wanting to source these imported products to relive our dream again. But I believe that New Zealand is one of the most self sufficient countries in the world and we can create these delights ourselves.
My childhood memories and travels around the world in recent years have stimulated my desire to commence making a range of products that I have savoured that I hope you will purchase and enjoy as much as I do.
Please feel free to contact me by email anytime. I am at the City market The Atrium, Chaffers Dock, in Wellington on a Sunday morning from 8.30am to 12.30pm.
